In the year 2067, Japan withdrew from the United nations and initiated a policy of national isolation from the world. In 2077, an abassador from Japan is found to be robot/android in nature, violating almost all UN regulations regarding android manufacture…

Obviously he’s the bad guy… so happy from killing all the people

The machine known as RACE. It blocks all radio waves…

SWORD suit in action… too bad it only looks cool…

Barely a day since the plan started and he looks like that… That’s the head of SWORD!

All SWORD members attack to procure an escape route for Vexille. Reasons for that: 1 – She’s the only girl in the team. 2 – She’s the heroine. 3 – It has nothing to do with the fact that she has a backup transmitter that SWORD needs to activate.

This is an Android! Look into my eyes!

What flows within is not blood… Its oil! There goes our crude oil problem out the window…

The cell is turning into metal from the Daito cybervirus… you can see the colour change…

The butterfly… Just felt like screening this part…

This is a MONSTER! Its big and scary and eats people…

Okay, Japan is a nation of androids, with Vexille and Leon still alive, but there are 3 bio-lifeform signals?

Maria and Leon Fayden are ex-lovers… why does that not surprise me…

‘I am GOD!’… so he claims… but his blood is still red like everyone else… well, except the androids…

The Greatest Sacrifice! The Japanese opened their city gates and lured those monsterous Jags to Daito… Because of this, Japanese is extinct…

The villain… He looks good with the scar on his face…

I’ll bring you to hell with me! Maria’s last stand, and her final revenge…

Another freaking butterfly! Does this scene have any meaning?
The story begins with some politician complaining about working during Christmas, and after he enters the mansion where the meeting was to take place, SWORD intervenes. However, by the time SWORD arrives, the politicians are dead. In the ensuing mayhem, the one of the remaining survivors, Saito, escapes, but not before losing his leg to SWORD agent Vexille. The recovered leg was found to be that of an android, violating almost all of UN’s regulations. As most machines in the world are being produced by Daito, the de facto ruler of Japan, SWORD decides to investigate Japan, sending 7 of their agents, lead by Leon Fayden. To maintain its isolation policy since 2067, Japan is surrounded by RACE arrays that scramble incoming and outgoing radio waves, ensuring that even satellite surveillance of Japan itself is impossible. To find out what is happening, the SWORD agents are given transmitters, which, when placed within Japan, will allow SWORD HQ to unscramble radio waves from Japan, and thus, monitor it. SWORD, at first, seems to be successful in their mission, but sadly, Saito was there to foil the plan, and the remaining SWORD members lead a valiant effort to ensure Vexille’s escape.
Vexille was found and rescued by Maria, and witnesses the ‘androidification’ of a civillian. Ryo is injured in an ensuing chase, and shows Vexille that he is no longer human. They then explain to Vexille that, 10 years ago, in 2067, Daito had developed a cybervirus, and on the pretext of it being a cure for a new strain of deadly virus, enforced a nationwide immunisation. However, this cybervirus converts cells into metals, turning the Japanese population into androids from inside out.
Maria and her group intends to take out Daito, who is intending to test a similar virus on America, and plans a desperate attempt to lure monsterous Jags, mindless robots that seek out metals to grow, to attack Daito. Successfully infiltrating Daito, but losing all of their members in the process, Vexille and Maria are caught and brought before Kisaragi, the scientist that invented the cybervirus. He claims himself to be god, but Vexille exposes his deception; Kisaragi is not an android like the rest of the Japanese!
In a final act of sacrifice, the remants of the Japanese people open the gates of Tokyo and allows the Jags to attack, and bravely sacrifice their lives to take down Daito… With the end imminent, Maria grabs hold of Kisaragi, and awaits her death… The survivors of the attack, Vexille and Leon think over the lesson learnt from this episode of tragedy, and the great sacrifice of Maria and her people…
Review: This is a very good movie, with a plausible plot that is engaging to the audience. It also explores the definition of humanity, and the loss of it. The music was very appropriate, and the ending theme was just fabulous! The graphics are also some of the best…
